Breakfast for lunch and dinner

My husband said it had been months since we ate at Denny’s.  So after doing Zumba, and boxing, I drove us there.  It was 11.45, and the place was jamming.  They seated us fairly quickly, but did say it could take up to 30 minutes from sitting down, to getting the food.

We ordered our waters, and breakfast immediate we sat down, and I think that saved us around 10 minutes.

We both usually order from their 2, 4, 6, 8 dollar menu.  We have the 2 eggs, 2 sausage, and 2 pancakes at $4 .  However for a limited time they have the new Super Slam for $5.99.  So my husband had that, which is 2 eggs, 4 sausage, hash browns, and 2 pancakes.  Both come with bacon, and sausage, but we don’t like American bacon.

I asked for extra napkins, as I lift my eggs, wipe the plate, and top of them.  Also I squeeze my sausages in napkins.  That way my fat intake is less.

We both brought home most of our pancakes, and will have them later.  Mine will do for another meal, but my husband’s will probably be dessert.

Yes, this healthy gym rat does cheat, but as you can see, I try to do the best I can to cut calories.

  1. I’m not a huge fan of bacon in most Us restaurants but I learned a trick on Food Network – I bake mine in the oven at 400 degrees on a rack with piece of foil underneath. All the fat drips off and it’s super crispy and not greasy. But yes, still not meaty like British “bacon” which to me seems like Canadian bacon 🙂
