Friends coming for dessert around 3 – 4 p.m.

Luckily I have my anxiety, and panic disorder under control, as I was cooking our Christmas dinner for 2 p.m. today, and our friends showed up at 1.30 p.m. for dessert.

I had asked them to text, or phone if they were coming, and that we would be having dinner around 2.  I didn’t hear from them until the phone call to say they were here.

I had to turn all the dinner food off, and heat my Christmas pudding, and make the custard.  I poured wine for everyone, and got out snacks.  An hour later the pudding was ready, and they loved it.

They left around 3.15, as they were going onto other friends for dinner.  Neither of us were ready for dinner, so I walked the beach for 45 minutes, and then came back to the timeshare, and finished dinner.  The only food that was ruined was the roast potatoes, they tasted as if they were leftovers.  So not the best Christmas dinner, but I was able to work around their error, and had dessert for dinner, and dinner for dessert.  Perhaps this could be our new Christmas tradition.

How did your day go?

  1. I’m definitely not a fan of high pressure social situations. My day was pretty relaxed spent with just my parents and a ton of food, haha.

    All the best!

  2. Happy you got it all worked out, my anxiety would have probably gotten the best of me! You handled it like the pro you are!
