Spectrum cable offer free McAfee Security.

We have had the same cable company for 30 years.  It was Time Warner, Brighthouse, and maybe other names during that period.  Last year it was taken over by Spectrum.  I have bought Norton every year to protect our laptops.

Since changing my cell phone to Spectrum, I have been on their website quite a bit.  I noticed that they offer free McAfee for up to 3 laptops/computers.  That is great as my Norton is up for renewal in 14 days.

I clicked on the link to go into it, and it says that if you have used McAfee before, and this laptop came with a 30 day trial, you have to use another email address.  So I tried my husband’s and that didn’t work.

Up came, that I had to get a secondary email.  I tried on gmail, which I use, and it was saying about the new one being the primary one.  I only want it for this one transaction.  I then went to Yahoo, only to find out that I had an account, probably 20 or more years ago.  So it took me a lot of verification codes to get it up, and running.

Back to the Spectrum page, and it is saying User Name or Password invalid.  What a pain in the rear end.

I am taking a step back from it after all that messing around.  I will most likely get onto Spectrum, and see what is now preventing me from their coverage.

The Internet is supposed to make our lives easier.  I find it challenging, and frustrating, so much of the time.
