Storms affecting my life.

I can’t complain with all the flooding in other parts of the states.  However, our Hurricane season started June 1st, and I was woken up with a thunderstorm at 6 a.m.  I laid it bed for an hour, and then was so fidgety, that I got up.

After having a coffee, and doing my bathroom routine, it was 8 a.m.  I opened the bedroom door, and put the television on, so that hubby would wake up.

Croatia and Wales were playing at 8.50 a.m. in the European qualifiers. Still no movement in the bedroom, so at 8.45 I woke hubby up.  He moaned that I had let him sleep in, but he never has a good night’s sleep, so why not.

Got my breakfast, and ready to watch the football match.  A few minutes in, and the lights flashed, the television went out, and everything had to be reset.  It takes around ten minutes to fully reboot, so we missed the own goal from Wales, to give Croatia the lead.

It is pitch black outside so not sure how long the television will stay on.  The only television I enjoy is football, and my English EastEnders, and Coronation Street.  I couldn’t care less about any other television programs.

How did your day start today?

  1. Unfortunately I woke with a migraine same as yesterday and had to take meds. I’m one of the lucky ones though, for whom the meds work well. I can function and go about my day even before the pain has completely subsided. The weather affects me a lot. Have a good one! 🙂

  2. I’m in Ohio and fortunately, my area received minimal damage from the May 27th tornadoes, 14 touched down within a 30 mile radius of my area in Dayton, Ohio. I was hiding in the tub when the sirens went off with blankets, shoes on, my purse and my phone. 🙂 but my silly cats were hiding way under the bed so I had to hope they would be safe. It’s amazing the damage tornadoes do to one side of the street and totally skip the other side. Hope you all stay safe in this crazy weather!

  3. So glad you are safe. Isn’t it frightening. We have been in the bathroom in the middle of the house, when hurricanes came through. We get the odd twisters, and water spouts. I guess we all do the best we can. Prayers for the people of Ohio that weren’t so lucky 🙏

  4. My day started at 6am in a tiny bed under a cupboard. I spent a sleepless night in a caravan near Great Yarmouth after a family wedding in Norwich. Sadly it rained the entire day of the wedding but I woke up to a beautiful sunny day so I went for a walk on the beach and I felt much better! X

  5. Susie, my typical day begins with a brisk hour-long walk (sometimes more), light breakfast of yogurt and cheese, and time with God’s word and prayer. This routine seems to calm the brewing storms that sometimes wait in my soul.
