The Premier League interferes with my gym workouts.

As you know we watched the Arsenal game at home yesterday.  We then went down to the gym, where I would be boxing on a Saturday.  I had to watch the Southampton – Liverpool match, so asked to have one of the televisions in front of the treadmills, on that station.

The first 45 minutes of the game, I picked up some 8 lb. weights, and spent the entire time, lifting while doing 2.8 mph.  I figuted this replaced the time I would have been boxing.  Then the second half, I just walked at 3.2 mph.

We then came home for the Manchester City – Tottenham match, which was a brilliant draw.

Today we had a 9 a.m. and 11.30 match, so decided on watching the first half at home, and then immediately driving to the gym.  We got there 5 minutes into the second half, and missed seeing the Sheffield United goal.  I so wanted Crystal Palace to win, or draw, and that is why I missed the first half of Zumba.  I needed to change up my routine, but had to be on the treadmill to see the match.  I did my own version of the HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).  I started at 3 mph, and then did 2 minutes of 4.5 running, and continued with this format for the remainder of the match.  I then did the final half an hour of Zumba.

We then drove home, and it was 9 minutes into the Chelsea – Leicester City match.  Again we missed the first goal from Chelsea.  They could have been several up in the first half, but went to pieces in the final 45 minutes.  Leicester scored in the 67th minute, and could have so easily won the match, instead of a draw.

Great Premier League football, and I made the most of the time at the gym today.  I am sure I will be working out at home later, when the laundry is done.

Once the laundry was in, we decided to go back to the gym, so that I could do some boxing.  We didn’t stay long, but I got a much better workout, that beating up my bag/ball in the closet.
