In a previous post I wrote about my husband not wanting to keep our ‘points system’ timeshare in the Orlando area. I had got a letter from the doctor’s office about his health issues, and I had written a detailed one to go with it.
I got the reply saying that they would accept it back, but at a cost to us. I had already paid around $1,000 maintenance fees, and 3 years of R.C.I. fees (the exchange company).
So today over the phone, I used a credit card to pay the $1,500 they wanted. We will get all the paperwork, once the attorney has it ready, and have to go to a local notary to sign our names.
I have just come off the phone with R.C.I., and had a really nice gentleman there, that was so understanding. I explained the situation, that I had paid for 2,020, 21, and 22. He said that he will fill out the cancellation paperwork for us, and within 72 hours we should get an email from them. I am hoping to get the majority of that money back.
Again I will update you as this proceeds, just in case anyone else has to deal with something similar.
Trying to deed back one of our timeshares.
Sounds a little frustrating.

I bet you’ll be glad when this is over and done with.

Good luck with that Susie. That would make a nice Christmas present.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for that email and you getting the vast majority of the money back. I don’t envy you having to deal with all of this so I just hope it goes as smoothly as possible.xx

It will only be a couple of hundred from the exchange company, but better than nothing.
