I have an appointment, and I managed to get it myself.

I came off the treadmill after 80 boring minutes at 2 mph.  I then phoned my Medicare H.M.O.  I explained everything in great detail, and the gentleman said that he couldn’t get an appointment for me, but would check to see if there was anyone else in my area.

He came up with one that had 2 offices within a 5 mile radius.  I was so happy.  I wrote down their phone numbers, and thanked him.

I phoned just before mid-day, and the lady said that one closest to home had closed.  The other one wouldn’t be until the 18th, but they had another office in East Pasco, with availability on Thursday.  I told her I would get back to her.

I knew that I couldn’t drive that far, and hubby hasn’t driven for 3 months now.  A friend at the gym offered to take us.  By the time I phoned back it was after 12, and it just kept ringing.

Hubby had a 2 p.m. appointment at the nephrologist office, so we stopped off at Denny’s for brunch.  I decided to call the first place again, that had been dragging their heals.  I explained about phoning yesterday, and the numerous times the G.P. had contacted them as well.  I said ‘All I want is an appointment for this week, and anything else, can get sorted out later.

Thank goodness Denny’s was quiet, as I was on for 35 minutes, got cut off, and then another 25.  The last thing I got was Friday at 1 p.m.

Thank you, thank you.  What a relief.  I then phoned my G.P.;s office to let them know.

I just had another phone call from them, changing it to 10.30 Friday,  Not a problem, I was praying when she said that the doctor wouldn’t be there, that it wouldn’t be next week!!!
