Tonight hubby had pizza, but I couldn’t decide what to eat. Then I thought back to one of my favorite meals in England. A couple of soft boiled eggs, with ‘soldiers’.
It was so delicious, and the most perfect food. Sometimes it’s nice to have comfort food that you still enjoy. This was at good as going out to a posh restaurant for me.
Glad you had your comfort food. We actually had some the same the day we saw the park. We gambled and had carryout from on of our favorite local places.

I remember having that as a kid. 🙂 … the ‘dipping’ soldiers were the best part. 😀

I make a huge one, and we have to for a couple of days, then I freeze double portions.

Toast soldiers! I have a plastic form that is the size of a slice of bread and it cuts out preshaped soldiers from the toast that are Guardsmen with their bearskin hats. There is also a little egg cup that is a little guardsman as well. It was supposed to be for our grandson but we will have to wait till the lockdown is over to give it to him.

That’s fantastic. I have a 70 year old elephant egg cup, but don’t use it.

I hope hubby hasn’t done anything with it then.

It’s the simple things in life that sometimes give us the most joy. I giggled when I read the part of how you referred to the slices of bread as soldiers. That’s cute.

I ate a larger meal today around Noon, so tonight’s “snack” may be eggs and turkey sausage.
