Covid Vaccine spots gone within 1 second of going online.

One of my girlfriends told me to phone the health department, and say that I don’t know how to get onto the Pasco Health department site, and would they help me to get an appointment for my husband, and myself. Her friend did it, and they got her an appointment for the same day.

I came home from the gym, and phoned the number. I waited while it did 12 minutes of talking, which I couldn’t even understand as the recording was so bad. Finally I was waiting for a person. After an hour, the battery in my landline phone went, so I had to hang up.

I then went onto the site, and got into where it said that I could sign up for the 2 p.m. spot tomorrow. No other ones for the 5th. I was ready an hour before it. I kept clicking on the screen so it wouldn’t go black. I set my alarm for 5 minutes before 2 p.m. when the ticket went online. When it changed to 1 minute on the screen, I had my stopwatch counting down. I went to register at exactly 2 p.m. on their site, and there were no more spots for tomorrow.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was.

  1. I just saw it on the news and Governor DeSantis said it will take patience, everyone wants one and Florida does have a high over 65 group. I heard we were going to start in Georgia after the 11th. Not sure how they’re going to distribute, but probably will not be the same as Florida

  2. I pray it isn’t. Healthy age 65 year olds can get it. Hubby is 87, only 10% of his heart is working, diabetic 47 years, kidney failure 26 years, + high b.p. and cholesterol, and I can’t get it for him.

  3. That’s disappointing, all right.

Texas counties decide how to give vaccines. From what I can tell, it’s all in disarray. My doctor has received vaccine for its employees but doesn’t know when or whether it will receive more, or when they might start vaccinating patients 75 and over. I haven’t reached 75 yet. The word is don’t-call-us-we’ll-call-you, which sounded better before I read they don’t know if they’ll receive more vaccine. My husband’s doctor is in the same boat. The Houston health department phone service crashed a few days ago with 250,000 calls. My friend in Knoxville got hers but had to wait in line several hours outside and then inside the building.

I hope you get your shot soon and with no more trouble. It really shouldn’t be this difficult.
