Thank you for sharing!!… I am sorry about your husbands passing, I am sure the world has lost a bit of sunshine… but I believe he occupies a special place in your heart and is with you always!!… 🙂
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaking in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die
(Mary Frye)
Until we meet again..
May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your spirit only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.
(Larry “Dutch” Woller)
Don’t know what to say Susie. Do not have words to console. Just know that life will go on. Memories will bring back moments of joy mixed with sadness. It can never be easy.
Here in the USA. The flag is given to the soldier’s family. The 21 gun salute is kind also. A good send-off. He served and he deserved a proper send-off dear Susie.
No, it was only the flag over him when he left the house. Because of Covid he was cremated, and I will have a memorial service in the autumn if family can travel from England.
I wanted to have a later Memorial service for my father. He was cremated also. Was not done yet dear Susie. The family had disperse all over the USA. I burn sage for him with the grandchildren at Lake St. Clair. I hope you are doing well and staying safe.
I’m so sorry! Prayers for you!

I am sorry for your loss dear Susie. I am glad you be honored by the military. I served with the Britain soldiers in two wars.

Being British, I didn’t expect the flag, but very proud of Len serving 22 years in the Royal Air Force.

I am a strong women, and ran the household. Len never had to do anything. I will get there, it just takes time.
