I am in a good place.

I would never have believed it, if someone told me a few days after my husband passed away, that I would say that ‘I am in a good place’, but that’s how I feel.

I know in the 40+ years we were together that I devoted myself to him, his needs, and health issues. I cooked, cleaned, worked, run our restaurant that we owned, took care of the elderly, and also bookkeeping. He was in charge of the remote, and put on whatever he wanted. If it wasn’t for me I initially caught up on stuff, and in the later years would go on Epinions, and then WordPress.

I promised him that I would never put him in a nursing home, and he died right next to me, him in the hospital bed, and my recliner right next to him. He had unconditional love from me, so, Yes, I am in a good place, with no regrets about him.

  1. As sad as his passing is, it’s beautiful to read this. I think that the most beautiful thing in life is birth, and then having the one you love most beside you when we pass. ❀

  2. In your situation, there is nothing more positive that you could say than this! You know as well as I that it is a case of taking each day as it comes and I wish you strength, love and hope for the days ahead.

  3. Glad to hear. I think most of us are hopeful that we will be in a good place when our husband passes away. It is easier the older you are. When someone is taken from you at a young age, it is very challenging. Glad to hear you are well.
