First off I wanted to watch the F.A. Cup match, Leicester City against Southampton on E.S.P.N.+ I could get into it on both my cellphones, but when it came to the television, it told me to sign up, and pay for it. I clicked on various options, and I was told to go to my laptop or phone, bring up the activate page, and enter the numbers on the screen. I messed around with this, and missed the first half of the match. In the end I phoned their help line, and got a gentleman to get it up for me on the television, and my Samsung phone. He told me to call back on the landline for get it on my iPhone. I didn’t do that as I was wanting to see the remainder of the match.
I phoned Spectrum about my Mobile account. I was hoping that they would have the information from me, and pass it on to the television/Internet/landline account. After giving all the information, I was told that I would have to pay the other 23 payments on the phone, as the account had been opened with Len’s social security number. I burst into tears. The lady at the other end knew that Len had died, and that was the reason I was changing it. I said whose credit card is the payment every month, not only now you are Spectrum, but Brighthouse, and Time Warner. She said, ‘Yours’. I said check my credit rating as I have NEVER missed a payment with anyone in the past 33 years. I have not only excellent credit but in the top couple of percent. She said, I know, so my Supervisor is trying to sort an alternative. It wasn’t that I didn’t have the money for it, but that every time I contact someone with regards to my husband’s death, I hit a brick wall.
To cut an hour phone call short, the only way I don’t have to pay, is have Len’s name on the online account. I autopay so won’t even see it. When the phones paid for I let them know then.
So I have given up doing anymore paperwork or phone calls. It’s trash night, so will probably throw a few more things away.
