The drive down here was relaxing yesterday.

I really didn’t know how I was going to feel driving down to Treasure Island on my own. Actually I found it relaxing, even through half of it is on U.S.19, which is a dangerous road.

Len used to do the drive up until 4 or 5 years ago, and when the neuropathy from diabetes got so bad, the doctor and I insisted that I do the longer driving.

While driving I was waiting for Len to say the usual things that he always did, that guy is going to cut in front of you, watch out for that idiot etc. The last few times I drove down he watched, but didn’t say anything.

I didn’t stop off for lunch, where we used to, and drove directly here. I unpacked the food, and then went on the beach for a walk. I came up for the second half of the Brighton match, only for them to be beaten 1 – 0 by bottom of the league Sheffield United.

I did around 20,000 steps, which is double what I had been doing, as I would spend more time with Len, and less on the beach. I stopped off, and chatted with the security guard, before heading up to my room. I took a long shower, and realized it was 9 p.m.

I came here to WordPress, and spent the final couple of hours before going to bed, writing, and reading. I always make sure I am really tired before going to bed. It was a reasonable night’s sleep, but the first one without Len I knew wouldn’t be easy.

  1. I pretty much did everything, including taking care of Len, so life will be slowing down for me. It’s difficult in the timeshare in the evenings, and with the WIFI down, very frustrating, as I would be streaming.

  2. I hope they have gotten the WiFi working for you by the time you read this as I’m late in responding. You are one of the bravest woman I know and so happy you are out at your favorite place. Enjoy the ocean! Sending virtual HUGS your way! ❤️
