Went to the hairdresser for the first time in 30 years.

If you read my blog often, you will know that Len loved my long hair. It was so long that I had it up during the day, and down for him when we were home.

Around a month after he passed away, I cut 6 inches off of it. I kept it that length until I was certain I didn’t want it any shorter.

Today I made an appointment online to have it evened up. The hair stylist said that I had done an acceptable job of it.

She only found one bit of my hair right at the back that was slightly longer than the rest. She just clipped the ends, and I was done in less than 5 minutes.

She charged me for a trim, rather than a cut, where she would have washed it, and layered it.

So as I always say ‘I am a Jack of all trades and Master of none.

  1. looks good! By the way you still have plenty of hair to put up. “Messy buns” are very popular. I wear my hair back or in a messy bun with a srunchy probably about 75% of the time. My hair isn’t even as long as yours. Just get some new clips and hair stuff and experiment to see what works with your hair.

  2. I’m at the point where I need a cut. I’ve always done it myself as most salons don’t know how to cut natural curly hair.
