My very dear friend that I have known for around 25 years, can’t drive anymore, due to dementia. So last time I was down at Treasure Island I picked her up, took her to her favorite restaurant, and came back to the Voyager. We then had dessert, and wine on the balcony.
So I am doing that again today. She really can’t hold a proper conversation, but I can pick up the gist of it, and answer as best I can. She is a lovely lady, and it gives me great pleasure to get her out, and do things that she used to do.
How great. You are a true friend. Your kindness reminds me of an old saying: Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person. Enjoy. Stay well.

I read somewhere – ”when it’s real you cannot walk away ” and reading your post shows how much you value the relation you hold ❣

What a wonderful kind thing to do. It helps people with dementia so much when they are able to do normal things.
