I wish all my American friends a Happy 4th of July. I am a resident alien, and have kept my British citizenship. This year with no Len, I will go to the gym this morning, although very limited with my left shoulder, and then come home to my empty house. I am slowly getting used to it, but it’s still not easy to do.
Thank you for sharing and you have a Happy 4th of July also!!… your home is not empty, it is filled with memories that you can visit whenever you wish to…. 🙂
Until we meet again..
May your troubles be less
Your blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door

Happy 4th. Glad you are able to keep your citizenship! Is it because you have property here? Just curious. I would love to have two citizenships. We are truly a great nation.

Wishing the best to you. I normally don’t like sugar-coating and softening words, but in this case, I’ll make an exception. I believe you love this country too, so how about not a resident alien, but an American with 2 homes, because sometimes home remains where even half the heart is – not always where we hang our hats.

It’s because Len and I spent years owning a restaurant through a business visa. We proved we could make a huge success of it, and employed 13 Americans for many years.

All my family is in England and I haven’t been able to visit in 12 years because of Len’s chronic illnesses. I think if I could have a service for him I would feel so much better. I don’t have closure.
