Len’s 88th birthday today, and I have been awake most of the night.

This will be a sad, and happy week for me. It would have been his birthday today, and our wedding anniversary on Monday. That is why we bought this week at our timeshare.

So I will be packing, and driving down to Treasure Island beach around lunchtime.

I have now been down there a few times on my own, and have really enjoyed walking in the water’s edge.

Tomorrow I will be going to church to give thanks for the 43 years spent together.

  1. Firsts of birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays are always bittersweet after a loved ones passing. It’s sad, but good to remember all the good times we’d had with them. Somehow we manage to get through.

  2. Thank you for sharing!!… your days with Len are continuing for he rests in a part of your heart and with you always!… and no doubt he is smiling and proud of you as your heart goes on… 🙂

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you awaking in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft star that shines at night
Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die

    Until we meet again..
May flowers always line your path
    and sunshine light your way,
    May songbirds serenade your
    every step along the way,
May a rainbow run beside you
in a sky that’s always blue,
And may happiness fill your heart
each day your whole life through.
