If you have been watching the Premier League matches you will have seen the poppy on every shirt.

I do miss the tradition of buying, and wearing a poppy this time of the year, in remembrance of our fallen heroes.

Right now I am watching the Aston Villa – West Ham match, and delighted that the Hammers scored in the 7th minute. Sorry Sheree. All the matches are showing an hour later here, because the clocks changed overnight, in England.

Since starting this post 2 goals have been scored, one for each side, so West Ham are still leading 2 – 1 against Villa.

I also checked about poppies in America, and National Poppy Day is May 28th.

  1. You’re so right Susie, I’m not a happy bunny. The boys are unfortunately on a bit of a losing streak which needs to be turned round smartish, otherwise……

  2. We have them here in Canada. This year I have two brooches one is a red poppy and a purple poppy. I also have a single purple one. The purple commemorates the animals : horses, dogs, carrier pigeons who lost their lives in the wars.
