Since this year started my routine has certainly changed. Yes, Covid had me in bed for 4 days, but since then, I have been making my coffee the night before, putting it in my new insulated bottle, and enjoying it in bed.
I have always set my alarm for 7.30 – 8.00 and got up. Done everything I needed to do and been at the gym for my morning classes.
I am RETIRED. Then why do I try and structure my life. Well, no more. Covid has taught me to enjoy life more. I deserve to have coffee in bed, get up when I want to, and yes, I will go to the gym when I am ready, but when I want to.
I honestly think going through this has been good for me in the strangest way. I have always thanked the Lord for each day, for my blessings, and prayed whenever I wanted to. Life is precious and we take it for granted.
I am going to do what I want, when I want. Nobody owns me, I am my own person, and from now on, ME comes first.
Good for you! When I retired two years ago, everyone wondered what I was going to do. I spent years doing what I ‘had’ to do–I couldn’t wait doing what I ‘wanted’ to do. Turning off that alarm was the very first thing to go–enjoy life, Susie!!

Thank you for sharing!!… glad you are feeling much better!!.. just follow your heart, you won’t go wrong…. “My will shall shape the future. Whether I fail or succeed shall be no man’s doing but my own. I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze.. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny”. (Elaine Maxwell)…. 🙂
Until we meet again…
May your troubles be less
Your blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door
