Memories from home.

It’s very rare now, after 34 years her in Florida, for me to miss something from England, but occasionally it’s food.

My favorite dish is English back bacon, and tomatoes cooked under the grill. The only back bacon here is either Canadian, which is ham, or frozen which is chewy, and lacks flavor. I then go to my other favorite, extra sharp Cheddar cheese, and tomato, with salt and pepper.

Yes, I feel full, and happy both in my tummy, and mind. Food for the soul.

  8. I lived in Florida for 27 years and missed so much of the good Chicago food where I grew up. Too bad you can’t order that bacon for a special treat once in a while. Have a nice weekend.
