I haven’t written much lately about working out. If you have been reading my blog on a regular basis, you would know that I often worked out at 3 different gyms in one day.
This slowed down when Len got sick, and then not at all. After his passing it took a year for the tears in my rotator cuff to repair. I then had the cataracts in both eyes taken care of.
April it was off to England to visit with my family.
Next it was time to take care of my right knee that has been swollen for at least 4 years. I finished going to physical therapy around a month ago, but still stretch, and do the exercises for that knee.
Most of this time I continued to do boxing with my trainer, but my strength and endurance was at an all-time low.
I have taken note this past month on how I get out of breath when boxing. So, I started back on my punching bag. I am up to 3,000 punches, and that’s certainly paid off. Instead of 2 and a half minutes boxing with my trainer, my first set is 7 minutes. What a difference.
Also, I have put on all the weight the doctor wanted me too, but have to watch what I eat from now on.
All good news.
It really is.” All things work together for our good”.

7 minutes boxing is good stamina! It’s impressive how fast your fitness came back, I think it’s because of the fitness base from years of training 🙂

It doesn’t take long to slip when circumstances prevent you from exercising! When I got out of the hospital after three weeks my endurance was shot, too. It took a few months to get back up to 20 minutes on the rower and my previous resistance on the Bowflex.

Mine continued over years so it will take forever, if I ever get back to a ‘Lean, mean, fighting machine’ 😂

Thank you for sharing!!.. as we age it takes a bit longer as we are slower to rebound but with patience and determination rebound we will…..“No road is too long for him who advances slowly and does not hurry, and no attainment is beyond his reach who equips himself with patience to achieve it.” (Jean de La Bruyere )… 🙂
Hope your path is paved with love and happiness and until we meet again…
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true

Nice to hear back from you. You must be a local celebrity! Depending on how uncommon you make yourself, I would venture to say.
Keep up the great attitude that you sport.
