Where were the guys that were on fire when playing their first match. The first half, with the continued passing back, drove me crazy. We have so much talent, and they must have left it in the dressing room, as it was a lackless attempt from all of the players. I can’t say any one player did a good job.
On the other hand, the U.S. played well to keep it a 0 – 0 draw.
Manager, Southgate needs to get them motivated before they play Wales. Wales have to win, and hope that either the U.S. or Iran loose, or a draw would take them above the U.S. Obviously, I don’t want this to happen as I am a huge supporter of the England football team.
I think I can answer your question. What happened yesterday was that England ran into a talented, energetic, motivated U.S. team. They (England) also assumed that all they needed to do for a win was show up and walk onto the field.
It sort of reminded me of the way England assumed their fledgling little colony would just happily oblige their colonial rule and pay whatever outrageous tax was demanded.
Once again, we see the English bested by their own worst enemy: English arrogance.

At least against Wales, both teams (US) scored a point rather than the 0-0 draw.

I didn’t watch it, but it must have been exciting to watch such a close game.

It was dire, wasn’t it? So sluggish and they seemed bereft of any passion. If they had played like that against the Wales side that lost earlier that day, I fear they would have lost. Still, four days is a long time in football! 😉

It was horrible. Worryingly I think I have more pace than Kane. Has anyone seen Foden….

Agreed! One things for sure, with all still to play for; the next game will have to be a cracker!

I didn’t want to say that for fear of offending you, Susie, but it felt like they never woke up that morning.
